freeborn-design.com — this website
Our own site: brand system, bespoke Next.js build, interactive 3D hero, and self-managed hosting — designed and built entirely in-house.
The challenge
A studio that sells design and web work needs a site that proves it. The brief was simple: demonstrate the full range — brand, web, 3D, and infrastructure — in one place, with no template shortcuts.
The approach
Designed the brand system first — the FBD monogram, charcoal and ember palette, and the type pairing. Then built a bespoke Next.js site: a WebGL hero with the mark sealed inside a glass orb, orbiting service icons with a travelling-light pulse, an airbrushed red cloud backdrop, and a custom contact endpoint running on our own managed Plesk hosting.
The outcome
A fast static site that doubles as a portfolio piece — every banner, icon, and interaction on it was designed and built by the studio.
